Dieser Effekt ist auf die faserige Struktur des urspr\u00fcnglichen Minerals Krokydolith zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren, das w\u00e4hrend des Verkieselungsprozesses durch Quarz ersetzt wurde.<\/p>\n Das Tigerauge kommt haupts\u00e4chlich in S\u00fcdafrika, Australien, Indien und Namibia vor. Es entsteht durch die Umwandlung von Amphibolmineralien in Kiesels\u00e4ure, wobei die urspr\u00fcngliche Faserstruktur erhalten bleibt. Seine chemische Formel lautet SiO\u2082 und seine H\u00e4rte betr\u00e4gt 7 auf der Mohs-Skala.
