Lepidolite<\/a> is a purple to pink shimmering mica, rich in lithium. The mineral is often found in pegmatites along with other lithium-containing minerals such as tourmaline and spodumene. Lepidolite has a characteristic luster and flaky texture, typical of mica.<\/p>\n Major deposits include Brazil, Zimbabwe, the United States and the Czech Republic. Its chemical formula is K(Li,Al)\u2083(Si,Al)\u2084O\u2081\u2080(F,OH)\u2082. The hardness is between 2.5 and 4 on the Mohs scale.<\/p>\n Well-known varieties are purple lepidolite and pink lepidolite, depending on colour intensity and inclusions.<\/p>\n Sources: <\/strong> Hand stones are our largest, tumbled and smoothly polished (precious) stones that often sit very well in the hand, which immediately explains the name. Drummed, this size is also called a palm stone or jumbo stone. Often these stones are extra polished or ground after tumbling for a beautiful end result. Despite this consistency, it remains a natural product, so variations in shape, colour and pattern can always occur. This can vary from one type of stone to another.<\/p>\n Generally, handstones have a size between 4 \u00d7 3 \u00d7 2 cm and 6 \u00d7 5 \u00d7 3 cm. Almost all our handstones come from Madagascar, where they are carefully selected and processed. The product photos give a good impression of what to expect.
