Rutile quartz<\/a> is a special variety of quartz in which needle-shaped inclusions of rutile (titanium dioxide) are visible. These inclusions can be golden, reddish-brown or black and often form a striking pattern within the transparent or slightly cloudy crystal. Rutile quartz is valued for this unique visual effect, which gives each specimen its own character.<\/p>\n The mineral is found in locations around the world, including Brazil, Madagascar, India and the United States. It forms in hydrothermal veins where rutile and quartz crystallise simultaneously. Quartz's chemical formula is SiO\u2082, while rutile has the formula TiO\u2082. Rutile quartz has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.<\/p>\n Sources: <\/strong> Pierced pendants are polished and cut (precious) stones with a drill hole, making them easy to wear on a cord or chain. This makes them a popular choice for jewellery. In most cases, the pendants are pierced widthwise, from left to right.<\/p>\n The pierced pendants are available in various shapes and sizes, including drop, oval, point and heart. Some of the range is manufactured in China, while other pendants come from Madagascar. The pierced diameter varies by model and is usually between 2 and 4 mm. We sell the pierced pendants individually, with some having a minimum order of 5 pieces.
