Fluorite<\/a> is a mineral known for its wide colour variation and glassy luster. It can be purple, green, blue, yellow, colourless or even multicoloured. Fluorite often forms in hydrothermal veins, usually together with other minerals such as quartz, calcite and barite.<\/p>\n Major deposits include China, Mexico, South Africa and Spain. Its chemical formula is CaF\u2082, and the mineral belongs to the halides.
