Aventurine<\/a> is a variety of quartz that contains tiny inclusions of shimmering minerals such as mica or haematite, creating a sparkling effect called aventurescence. The most common colour is green, but specimens also exist in blue, orange, brown and grey.<\/p>\n Major deposits include India, Brazil, Russia and Tanzania. Aventurine belongs to the quartz family with the chemical formula SiO\u2082.
