These unusual bone discs come from Atlasaurus, a large herbivorous dinosaur that lived around 165 million years ago. Atlasaurus belonged to the sauropods: dinosaurs with long necks, long tails and enormous bodies.
The fossilised bones have been cut into slices and polished, beautifully revealing the unique structure of the fossilised bone. A tangible piece of prehistory dating back millions of years.
