Chalcedony is a crystalline form of quartz and comes in a wide range of colours and shapes. It is known for its silky luster and often small sparkling crystals. Chalcedony can range from translucent to semi-transparent and comes in different colours such as white, grey, blue, green and brown. Stilbite is a mineral belonging to the zeolites. It is often found in cavities of volcanic rocks and is known for its white to pink colours and shimmering crystals. Stilbite has a characteristic flat, leaf-shaped crystal structure. When chalcedony and stilbite occur together, it results in a beautiful visual contrast. The soft, solid colours of chalcedony form a nice background for the often sheet-coloured and shiny stilbite.
