This knotted bead necklace is made from rutile quartz, a special type of quartz containing fine, needle-like inclusions of rutile. These golden-yellow to copper-coloured needles run through the clear to slightly translucent quartz, giving each bead a unique pattern.
The beads have been individually strung on yellow cord, which complements the warm tones of the rutile beautifully. Rutile quartz is found in Brazil and Madagascar, amongst other places.
